The University of Nevada men’s basketball team is ranked sixth in the AP Top 25 Poll, released on Monday.

Duke is ranked first, with Kansas, Gonzaga, Virginia and Tennessee rounding out the top 5.

The No. 6 ranking is the highest in school history. The previous high was seventh in the preseason poll.

The Wolf Pack opened the season with two convincing home wins 86-70 over BYU and followed that with an 83-61 victory over Pacific.

The Pack has two more home games as part of a four-game homestand to start the season hosting Little Rock on Friday at 8 p.m.  Monday, Nov. 19 Nevada takes on Cal Baptist at 7 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center.  Both games are part of the Las Vegas Holiday Invitational.

Meanwhile, Duke has supplanted Kansas after its dominating win against Kentucky, giving the Blue Devils a record number of appearances at No. 1.

The Blue Devils jumped from fourth to first in Monday's first regular-season poll. That allowed Duke to set a record with its 135th week at No. 1, breaking a tie with UCLA for most all-time.
