On 2 Plus You Nevada, host Sarah Johns welcomes Lacey Hankin with Washoe County Search & Rescue to discuss the team's year-round rescue capabilities and the Mt. Rose Hill Climb, happening Saturday, September 12 at the Mt. Rose Summit Trailhead.
Lacey explains how the all-volunteer Search & Rescue team responds 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, assisting with everything from injured hikers and backcountry emergencies to technical rope rescues, water rescues, avalanche response and wildfire evacuations. She also shares how proceeds from the nearly 10-mile Mt. Rose Hill Climb help fund the specialized equipment and training volunteers need to continue serving Northern Nevada.
