We'll be a bit milder tonight as lows dip to around 40 here in Reno. A quick series of systems over the weekend will keep showers and even stray thunderstorms in play for the weekend in addition to cooling us down.Â
The first low from socal will bring activity mainly to the Sierra Crest and southern Great Basin. The second system arrives from a trough to the north which will bring more energy to our neck of the woods and thus more shower activity around Reno. You can expect a chance for isolated thunderstorms on both days. By Monday, we'll stick with light and scattered shower activity before things peter out afterwards. Keep in mind that at 7000 to 8000 feet and above there will be chances for steady snow with inches of accumulation south of Tahoe on the mountain tops over the weekend.
By the middle of next week high pressure will start building in, which will result in highs pushing closer to 80 by next Friday. Something to look forward to if you like doing stuff like going to the pool!
