Did you know that a simple pair of socks can make a meaningful difference for veterans, children, and families in need? The Reno Elks Lodge is bringing Northern Nevada together for Socktober 2026, a community-wide sock donation drive collecting thousands of pairs for local veterans, shelters, schools, and nonprofit organizations through November 9!

On 2 Plus You Nevada, host Sarah Johns welcomes Sue Babb, Socktober Committee Chair for the Reno Elks Lodge, to share how one veteran's need inspired this growing charitable initiative. What began with 9,380 pairs of donated socks in its first year grew to 22,000 pairs the following year!

Discover how local schools, businesses, and volunteers are working toward a goal of 30,000 pairs in Reno, how donations reach people in need, and how you can help support veterans and families throughout Northern Nevada.
