Celebrate National Square Dancing Month with the Northern Nevada Square Dance Association! 2 Plus You Nevada host Sarah Johns sits down with square dance caller Bill Sutman to explore the history, health benefits, accessibility and community behind square dancing before taking viewers onto the dance floor for a beginner lesson and full demonstration.

Bill explains how square dancing is enjoyed around the world, introduces viewers to Northern Nevada's local square dance clubs and discusses how dancing combines physical movement with listening, memory and quick decision-making.

Then it's time to learn how to square dance! Sarah is joined by KTVN's James Michael Dorado and Angela Schilling as the three beginners pair with experienced Northern Nevada square dancers. Bill teaches them the Ladies Chain, Courtesy Turn, Ladies Center and Men Sashay, Allemande Left, Do-Si-Do, Right and Left Grand, Promenade and Weave the Ring before they put everything together with music.

Finally, the experienced dancers take over the 2 Plus You Nevada dance floor! With Bill calling live, the group performs an energetic demonstration featuring Square Through, Swing Through, Grand Square, Pass the Ocean, Recycle, Star Promenade, Weave the Ring and more.
