...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 400 PM PDT
FOR SOUTHWESTERN PERSHING AND SOUTHERN WASHOE COUNTIES...

At 334 PM PDT, a strong thunderstorm outflow was located 8 miles
east of Sutcliffe, or 10 miles southeast of Pyramid Lake, moving
northwest at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, fencing and trees. Strong
wind gusts expected to impact boaters along the south shore
of Pyramid Lake within the next 20 minutes.

Locations impacted include...
Pyramid Lake, Nixon, Sutcliffe, Virginia Peak, The Needle Rocks, and
Tohakum Peak.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Wind damage with this storm will occur before any rain or lightning.
Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. SEEK
SHELTER IMMEDIATELY inside a sturdy structure and stay away from
windows.

If on or near Pyramid Lake, get away from the water and move indoors
or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now!  Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

WIND THREAT...RADAR INDICATED;
MAX WIND GUST...60 MPH

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT PLUMAS...SIERRA...SOUTHEASTERN
LASSEN AND SOUTHERN WASHOE COUNTIES THROUGH 430 PM PDT...

At 324 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles north of Spanish Springs to near Cold
Springs to 6 miles northwest of Dog Valley. Movement was north at 20
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Strong crosswinds along US-395 could
bring difficult travel for high profile vehicles.

Locations impacted include...
Beckwourth, Doyle, Herlong, Chilcoot, Susanville, Vinton, Cold
Springs, Cold Springs Valley, Standish, Janesville, Chilcoot-Vinton,
Hallelujah Junction, Frenchman Lake, Antelope Lake, Lemmon
Valley-Golden Valley, Lake Davis, Spanish Springs, Loyalton,
Susanville Municipal Airport, and Boulder Creek Campground.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

* Dust Advisory for...
Northwestern Churchill County in west central Nevada...
Storey County in western Nevada...
Southwestern Pershing County in west central Nevada...
Washoe County in western Nevada...
North central Lyon County in west central Nevada...

* Until 400 PM PDT.

* At 253 PM PDT, a wall of dust was along a line extending from near
Fernley to near Hazen to 8 miles southeast of Fallon, moving
northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Less than one mile visibility with strong wind in excess
of 50 mph.

SOURCE...Doppler radar.

IMPACT...Hazardous travel along I-80 towards Lovelock, alternate U-
50, and Hwy 95.

Locations impacted include...
Fallon, Fernley, Hazen, Trinity Junction, Stillwater, Fallon
Municipal Airport, Junction U.S 50 And NV 116 (Stuart Rd), Desert
Peak, Junction I 80 And U.S 95 (exit 83), Junction U.S 50 And NV 117
(sheckler Cutoff), Fallon Station, Fernley - Tiger Field Airport,
Wadsworth, Junction U.S 95 And NV 120 (Pasture Rd), Fernley Sink Near
I-80, and Battleground Point.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Blowing dust can be hazardous. Delay or reroute travel. Remain aware
of the weather.
