Children in Reno-Sparks communities have the opportunity to receive free dental services on select Saturdays through December.

"We have Saturday dental screenings going on, it's a series of six events," says Xenia Pyne, Health and Literacy Coordinator for Liberty Dental Plan.

The screenings for at-risk youth began October 3, and continue through December 19, 2020. The following are locations and dates families can attend the screenings for their kids.

Salvation Army Corps- October 3

Mira Loma Shopping Center- October 17

Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows- October 31

Wooster High School- November 14

Stead Elementary School- December 5

Small Smiles Dentistry- December 19

"We are thrilled to partner with Small Smiles to provide access to critical screenings and preventive dental services," said Dr. Amy Tongsiri, DMD, Dental Director for LIBERTY Dental Plan of Nevada. "We are concerned about the long-term public health impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and hope these events will bring services into neighborhoods where they are needed most."

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is also partnering with the effort, handing out food bags to families who attend the drive-thru event.
