A major winter storm will impact west coast and our region starting early Sunday morning and lasting through Monday.
The forecast calls for 2 to 4 feet of snow in the mountains. 1-8" around our valleys and 12" or more around Lake Tahoe, Virginia City and the foothills.
Snow could switch over to rain showers by Monday afternoon and the storm moves out of here on Tuesday with lingering showers.
Travel before Saturday evening to beat the storm, chain controls and possible road closures in the mountains and be prepared for downed trees and power outages with gusty winds 30 to 40 mph.
The Monday morning commute will be a slick one as well. Check www.nvroads.com for the latest winter road conditions.
