Caltrans wants to reminds drivers that Interstate 80 (I-80) has a few lane and ramp closures that may impact travel times.
The closures run along I-80 and State Route 20 (SR 20) as several projects in Placer and Nevada Counties in California will have crews working.
They've provided a list of the following I-80 closures for next week:
Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project
Various lane and ramp closures are scheduled on the eastbound side from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 9 through Thursday, June 12 between Monte Vista and Drum Forebay. Scheduled work also continues from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13 and 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 13 until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14.
On the westbound side, lane and ramp closures between Drum Forebay and Monte Vista are scheduled from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 a.m. Monday June 9 through Thursday June 12. Work is also scheduled from 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13 until 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14.
Closed until further notice are the Baxter on- and off- ramps; drivers in the area will follow a detour eastbound to Drum Forebay and then head back west on I-80 to Baxter.
Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project
Traveling westbound between Yuba Gap and the SR 20 junction, lane closures are taking place from 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8 until 6:00 a.m. Monday, June 9. Work also takes place from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. from Monday, June 9 to Thursday, June 12. Officials say work is scheduled to end for the week by 6:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13.
Going eastbound between the junction with SR 20 and Yuba Gap, closures will be happening from 10:00 p.m. Sunday, June 8 until 7:00 a.m. Monday, June 9. Also, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Monday, June 9 to Thursday, June 12. Work in that direction is scheduled to end for the week by 7:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13.
The Yuba Gap off- and on- ramps and eastbound I-80 off-ramp to SR 20 are closed until further notice, per officials. Drivers will have to follow a detour east to Eagle Lakes Road, then head back to the west on I-80 to SR 20 or Yuba Gap.
Soda Springs Pavement Rehabilitation Project
On the westbound side between Troy and Soda Springs, a number of lane closures are scheduled from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday June 9 through Thursday, June 12. Work will continue from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13.
Heading eastbound between Soda Springs and Troy, closures will be in place from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. starting Monday, June 9 through Friday, June 13.
Closures will be in place for the Kingvale off- and on-ramps from 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 8 through 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 9. More crews will be on scene from 6:00 p.m. until 12:00 noon Monday June 9 through Thursday, June 12. Another round of work will continue from 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13 until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14.
