The Market at Markleeville returned for another season, bringing local artists, crafters, growers, producers, and nonprofit organizations together in downtown Markleeville while also prompting temporary traffic changes for visitors and residents.
Produced by Sierra Chef, the market will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 25, Aug. 29, and Sept. 19.
The event is designed to showcase local creativity and community organizations while allowing attendees to browse handcrafted items, sample products from local growers and producers, and connect with nonprofits serving the area.
Live music will be featured throughout each market, with performances by local musicians providing entertainment during the event. Visitors can also shop for handmade jewelry, paintings, ceramics, sculptures, textiles, and other artwork created by local artists and crafters.
Local producers and growers will offer a variety of foods, including artisanal cheeses and baked goods. Nonprofit organizations will also participate, allowing attendees to learn about their missions, volunteer opportunities, and community initiatives.

To accommodate the event, Montgomery Street will be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on each market date. Access to adjacent properties and local destinations will be maintained whenever feasible.
Traffic will be detoured via Laramie Street and surrounding local roadways. Drivers are encouraged to follow posted detour signs, allow extra travel time, and use caution while traveling through the area as the community event takes place.
