A motorcycle rider is dead after a head-on collision with an SUV on U.S. 50 near Twin Bridges late Monday morning.Â
California Highway Patrol says a 2009 BMW F650GS motorcycle was heading east near Slippery Ford Road when it crossed over into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a 2022 Lincoln Navigator.Â
Despite life saving measures, the unidentified 85-year-old rider died on scene, after the 11:15 a.m. crash.
At this time, troopers say it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor.
There's no immediate word on if the SUV driver suffered any injuries.Â
The investigation remains ongoing.Â
