Conditions in the Sierra have forced traffic to be held along a portion of I-80, while chain controls have been enacted along many mountain roads.
NDOT confirms that traffic on I-80 is being held from the California-Nevada border to Hirschdale Road.
Beyond Hirschdale Road, chain controls are in place on I-80 to Nyak Road.
Elsewhere, State Route 89 in California is closed from Bliss State Park to Cascade Road.
Chain controls are also in place along Mt. Rose Highway, U.S. 50, Kingsbury Grade Road, State Route 89, and State Route 28 in California, and State Route 88 in California.
