The Douglas County School Board met on Tuesday to discuss approving a contract with the district's new superintendent, Frankie Alvarado.

The contract would include an annual salary of $175,000, and two motions were brought to the table.

One motion would amend the contract to include a one-year probationary period while the other would approve the contract as written.

It appears that both motions were passed on a 4-3 margin.

2 News Nevada will reach out to the Douglas County School Board tomorrow for clarification on the votes.
