The 25,885-acre Castle Ridge Fire in Elko County is now fully contained.

The BLM previously said that the fire was started by people, but did not elaborate on details.

The fire started north of the small town of Midas on October 6th, and at one point threatened the town and the nearby mine, but those warnings have since been lifted.

No buildings are threatened and no injuries are reported.

The Bureau of Land Management says firefighters previously stopped forward progress after the Castle Ridge Fire was initially reported on October 6.

Crews say they made significant progress on the north and northeast end of the fire. The BLM says the fire's progress toward Midas and the Midas Mine has been stopped.

Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo discussed the fire on social media Tuesday afternoon, taking to X to say that his office and Nevada Emergency Management are fully engaged and working with all local and regional partners to assess and fight the fire.
