The Reno Fire Department has verified that a fire on Margrave Drive - behind Plumb Lane - this afternoon was the cause of a power outage.
Smoke was seen in the area of Plumb Lane and Kietzke Lane in Reno earlier this afternoon - RFD says that the smoke was the result of someone leaving a wood pile burning unattended in their backyard.
The fire resulted in a downed power line, which NV Energy had to de-energize for safety.
No injuries have been recorded as a result of the fire, and there has been no reported damage to any houses or surrounding buildings.
NV Energy has re-energized the grid in the area; two houses still don't have power.
The fire has been knocked down, but drivers should use caution and make way for remaining first responders in the area.
An investigation is still underway by the Reno Fire Department.
