A fire crew rescued six abandoned puppies while working on the 3-1 Pit Fire in Lassen County.
A CAL FIRE Devil’s Garden Firefighter crew found the puppies, according to a Facebook post from CAL FIRE Lassen-Modoc Unit.
The crew took the puppies to their division/group supervisor, who worked with a Lassen County Sheriff’s Office deputy to get the animals into the care of the Lassen County Animal Shelter.
“A heartfelt thank you to the Devil’s Garden crew, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lassen County Animal Shelter for working together to ensure these puppies are safe,” said CAL FIRE in their post.

Containment is growing on a wildfire near Little Valley in northern California.
CAL FIRE says the 1,055-acre 3-1 Pit Fire is now 30% contained after starting early Tuesday afternoon near Little Valley and Wilson Springs Roads, southeast of McArthur in Lassen County.
Evacuation Orders have been lifted but Evacuation Warnings remain in place for these areas:

LAS-141-A
The cause remains under investigation.

Evacuation orders have been modified to warnings in Lassen County amid a wildfire burning near the Little Valley community west of Dixie.
The fire has been dubbed the 3-1 Pit Fire.
The latest numbers from Cal Fire suggest it's burned more than 1,055 acres and is still at five percent containment.
People in the area are asked to be ready in case evacuation orders are put in place again.
