The Reno Fire Department and Reno Police Department responded to a fire near 4th Street and Sutro Street in Reno on Saturday evening.
According to John Mandell, Battalion Chief of the Reno Fire Department, it was an attic fire at the Sutro Motel. Due to holes in the roof from previous fires, the fire was able to spread quickly before it was put out.
There were no injuries to anyone involved.
Everyone staying at the motel was evacuated and has a place to stay for the night.
The Red Cross of Northern Nevada met with affected residents on Sunday to make sure their basic needs, including clothing, food, medications, housing and emotional needs, are being met.Â
They met with people from five of the units.
Anyone who has been affected by a fire can contact the Red Cross for assistance at 1-800-733-2767.
