Lake Tahoe protection groups held a free invasive species training at the Tahoe Keys Marina where they showed the public a couple of high-tech machines that purify the water.Â
One of them is attached to the dock and brings dirty water in and pushes out clean water while collecting harmful debris.
The other one is basically a Vacuum on the water.
The Pixie Drone can operate on its own but manually it is operated with a controller similar to a remote-control car.
The device roams the lake and takes in water with debris.
The water comes into a reservoir that has mesh around it to catch materials.
it then filters out that material and clean water comes out the back of it.
The other device is one that attaches to a dock and is lowered into the water.Â
"It creates suction by the way of a 750-watt pump," said Co-Founder of Eco-Solutions, JT Chevallier. "That pump brings water into a filtration device which we're able to filter out things like aquatic invasive species, Styrofoam, trash, inorganic material and then it pumps that water out without that material in it. So, it not only removes the material from the water, but it actually does some sort of purification of the water before disbursing it back into the lake."
