The Grand Sierra Resort held its Christmas Tree Lighting Thursday night.
It was their 10th annual event where they light over 100 Christmas trees and three giant trees that sit upon the hotel.
They say it's their favorite way to kick off the holiday season.
"All of them are going to be lit at exactly the same time," said Christopher Abraham, the Chief Marketing Officer at Grand Sierra Resort. "We have one big switch that we pull that's connected to everything then poof it's Christmas."
7 p.m. is when the lighting took place, where Santa and Mrs. Clause flipped the big switch to light all the trees.
Abraham tells us why it's important to the community.
"It's extremely valuable because Grand Sierra Resort, we're in the heart of the community, part of the community, and we want the community to celebrate here at GSR," he said.
"Kids love it," he added. "They love the Christmas carols, they love the holiday show picture with Santa and the whole season starts right here tonight."
Even students from Depoali Middle School came to the lighting to sing Christmas carols while they waited for the trees to light up.
While everyone waited the GSR also handed out hot chocolate, doughnuts, cookies and candy before meeting outside the front of the hotel for the tree lighting.
