People in Gardnerville are encouraged to avoid making contact with the water at Mountain View Pond due to an algae bloom.
Town officials say it is on the south end of Snaffle Bit Drive.
The state's Environmental Protection Department is looking to see if the bloom poses a health risk.
Results are expected within two weeks.
Until then, they're asking people to keep themselves and their pets away.
