Red Flag warning 090224

A red flag warning is up on Labor Day through Monday evening for much of Nevada, with gusty winds and high fire danger.

The warning starts at noon and goes until 8 p.m.

A low pressure system will bring winds in the 15 to 30 miles per hour range with low humidity and critical fire weather.

Be extra careful with anything that makes sparks or flames outdoors such as target shooting, off-roading, and campfires.

There's a chance for showers and thunderstorms in central and eastern Nevada where dry lightning will be a concern.

Lake wind advisories are also up for area lakes including Lake Tahoe and Pyramid with choppy boating conditions and big waves.

Temperatures stay in the 90s each afternoon through the weekend with sunny skies.

Cooler 80s are in the forecast by next week.
