A suspect has been arrested in a downtown shooting that left four wounded earlier this month.

The shooting happened early in the morning of October 4, according to a release from the Reno Police Department.

RPD officers responded to a reported shooting near the intersection of West Street and West 2nd Street just before 4 a.m.

They found four victims who had been hit by gunfire, and learned that the suspect fled the area immediately after the shooting.

Patrol officers conducted a thorough investigation before turning the case over to the Regional Gang Unit, which took the lead on the investigation.

On October 15, the RGU arrested 19-year-old Salvador Mora-Jacinto of Sparks.

Police allege that Mora-Jacinto is a documented gang member.

He was arrested at his home. At the time of his arrest, detectives also recovered a 9mm non-serialized gun they say was used in the shooting.

Mora-Jacinto was arrested and booked on the following charges.

  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon Without a Permit

  • Discharging a Firearm Where Others Are Endangered

  • Four counts of Battery with a Deadly Weapon Resulting in Substantial Bodily Harm.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone who witnessed the shooting or has additional information, photographs, or video related to the incident is encouraged to contact the Reno Police Department.
