Blue Eagle fire

The Blue Eagle Fire, burning about 30 miles northwest of Austin, has scorched 9,218 acres and is 45% contained.

Crews continue working to strengthen containment along the western and southern sides of the fire.

Warm and dry conditions have allowed the fire to continue burning through pockets of pinyon, grass and juniper.

Over the next three to four days, crews will work to build about 12 miles of fireline around the remaining uncontained portions of the fire.

A Type 1 and Type 2 helicopter will help with water drops and will also transport supplies to crews working in remote areas.
