Carson City property owners can expect to receive their real property tax bills for the 2026-2027 tax year soon, with the new tax year running from Wednesday, July 1, 2026, through Wednesday, June 30, 2027.
The Carson City Treasurer’s Office said property owners should begin receiving their bills in the mail within the next fifteen days. Anyone who does not receive a bill by Friday, July 31, should contact the Treasurer’s Office at (775) 887-2092 to receive a duplicate tax bill.
Nevada law sets the due dates for property tax payments. Property owners with tax bills of more than $100 can make payments in four installments between August 2026 and March 2027.
The installment due dates for the current tax year are Monday, August 17, 2026; Monday, October 5, 2026; Monday, January 4, 2027; and Monday, March 1, 2027.
Property owners can pay online, through bill-pay with their bank, by telephone at (888) 837-9291, in person, or by mail at the Carson City Treasurer’s Office at 201 N. Carson St., Suite 5, Carson City, NV 89701. Payments can also be made through the green payment box located on the east side of City Hall at 201 N. Carson St.
The Treasurer’s Office said this year’s real property tax bills include two notices for property owners. The first provides the property tax cap status for each parcel and indicates whether the property is listed at the low or high property tax cap rate based on the property tax claim form filed with the Carson City Assessor’s Office.
Questions about property tax cap status can be directed to the Assessor’s Office at (775) 887-2130 or assessor@carsoncity.gov.
The Carson City Clerk-Recorder’s Office will also include information about enrolling at no charge in Carson City’s Recording Notification Service. The service notifies property owners if documents are recorded under their name or Assessor’s Parcel Number.
The Clerk-Recorder’s Office will also provide information about homesteading property. Questions about the notification service or homesteading can be directed to the Carson City Clerk-Recorder’s Office at (775) 887-2260 or recorder@carsoncity.gov.
The Treasurer’s Office reminded property owners to verify whether a mortgage lender or mortgage impound account makes their property tax payments or whether they are responsible for making the payments themselves.
Property owners who previously had a mortgage lender make their tax payments and have since paid off their mortgage are responsible for making timely property tax payments.
Questions about tax bills or requests for copies of tax bills can be directed to the Treasurer’s Office at (775) 887-2092 or treasurer@carsoncity.gov.
