Catholic Charities says 3,000+ local SNAP recipients were disqualified after work requirements took effect on Sunday.Â
Because of this, Catholic Charities say they're prepared to help people who lost access to benefits.
As we reported the "Big Beautiful Bill" passed last year requires people to work, volunteer or be enrolled in an approved education program at least 20 hours a week to maintain access to SNAP.
Catholic charities say veterans, people with teenage children and older adults 55 to 64 are among those impacted by the change.
