Child suffers 'major' injuries after being hit by car in Reno parking lot

The child, who is 8-years old, suffered major injuries.

Reno Police are investigating a car crash involving an 8-year-old pedestrian Saturday afternoon.

The incident happened just after 1:15 p.m. in the parking lot of Walmart on Vista Knoll Parkway.

Police say the child suffered major injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

The Reno Police Department M.A.I.T. (Major Accident Investigation Team) is handling the investigation.

Police say the driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

They say speed and impairment do not appear to be factors in this crash.
