A water main break has closed a portion of USA Parkway between Sydney Drive and Innovation Way.
It happened in the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center around 10 p.m. just north of Innovation Way.
Storey County says the break damaged the northbound lanes of USA Parkway and washed out part of the slope behind the guardrail.
All water customers south of the USA Parkway and Innovation Way intersection are currently without drinking water service.
TRIGID estimates restoration could take up to 48 hours. Affected customers have been notified.
Process water and sewer service have not been interrupted.
