Nevada high school seniors graduating in spring 2027 have until October 31 to apply for the Nevada Promise Scholarship, which can help cover some of the costs of attending Western Nevada College.
The scholarship can cover tuition and mandatory fees not covered by other federal or state financial aid for up to three years.
Created by the Nevada Legislature in 2017, there are no income or high school GPA requirements for those who meet the program's eligibility requirements.
Students must enroll at WNC in the fall immediately after graduating from high school. They must also complete several requirements to maintain eligibility, including filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), completing community service, attending a training session and meeting with a mentor.
The scholarship does not cover expenses such as textbooks, lab fees or housing.
Students can apply online at wnc.edu/advising/promise. For more information, contact WNC Academic Advising and Access at 775-445-3267.
