Spanish Springs Incident 122625

3:35 P.M. UPDATE:

A wanted felon was arrested Friday afternoon following a standoff in Spanish Springs.

Deputies located 41-year-old Colin Hartman outside a home on Kathy Terrace around 11 a.m., according to a release from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.

When deputies approached Hartman, he fled on foot and barricaded himself inside a home he was associated with.

Deputies set up a perimeter around the home and got a search warrant.

At around 1 p.m., the WCSO SWAT team was dispatched to help execute the search warrant.

Additional responding resources included the Hostage Negotiations Team, Drone Team, and the Regional Consolidated Bomb Squad.

Hartman refused to speak with negotiators, the Sheriff's Office said in their release.

When the search warrant was carried out, SWAT team members found Hartman in a bedroom, and he was taken into custody without incident.

Hartman will be booked on a felony warrant for violation of probation and conditions of a suspended sentence. He also faces felony charges stemming from a separate case with the Sparks Police Department and may face additional charges related to the standoff.
