The Mineral County Sheriff's Office says a traffic stop Wednesday morning resulted in the arrest of a man transporting almost 21 pounds of drugs.

They say the suspect, Daniel Chase of Nevada City, California, was pulled over on US 95 at mile marker 50 in Mineral County in a black-colored Audi sedan.

Deputies say they became suspicious of the driver's driving behavior made a traffic stop, and requested a K9 unit.

The dog alerted deputies and they found one pound of psychedelic mushrooms, almost 11.5 pounds of hashish, and eight pounds of marijuana concealed in two duffel bags. (pictured above). According to deputies, the approximate street value is $60,000 dollars.

Chase was booked into the Mineral County Detention Center for:

  • Trafficking marijuana
  • Trafficking Schedule 1 controlled substance
  • Possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell
