A 39-year-old driver is dead after a crash on Stead Blvd. early Friday morning.
The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. underneath the U.S. 395 bridge.
Police say an initial investigation shows that the unidentified driver was speeding when the car went off the roadway and hit a large concrete pole.
The roadway was temporarily closed for clean-up but has since reopened to traffic.
The Reno Police Department M.A.I.T. (Major Accident Investigation Team) is handling the investigation.

Both north and south off-ramps are also being diverted.
