Authorities have identified the driver who died in a crash on U.S. Alt. 95 in Yerington last month.

The crash happened south of mile marker 15 just before 9:30 a.m. on March 20.

Nevada Highway Patrol says a 2003 Subaru Outback was heading north on U.S. 95 while a 2020 Chevrolet 2550 pickup was heading south when the Subaru driver steered into the south lane trying to pass another car. That's when NHP says the left front of the Subaru hit the truck which went across the north lane where it stopped halfway on the dirt shoulder. The Chevy crossed the south lane and ended on the gravel shoulder.

NHP says the driver, 63-year-old Michael Nettles of Yerington died on scene.

The Nevada Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team is investigating this crash.
