Reno Police Fatal Car Crash

A crash involving a car and a box truck occurred at 12:02 p.m. in Stead on Wednesday.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Moya Boulevard and Lear Boulevard.

According to Reno Police, the car struck the back of the box truck at a high rate of speed.

The male driver of the car had to be extricated. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“Speed and the driver not wearing a seatbelt are suspected factors,” officials stated.

The Reno Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team is handling the investigation.

Police say the driver of the box truck was not injured. They remained on scene and are cooperating with the investigation.
