A portion of I-580 south and north was temporarily closed near Damonte Ranch Parkway due to a crash involving two dump trucks.

The crash happened around 7 a.m. on Monday.  

Troopers say that a preliminary investigation shows that the two dump trucks were traveling southbound when one of the trucks made an unsafe lane change, striking the other dump truck, causing the driver to lose control and overturn, dumping its load of dirt into the northbound travel lanes of I-580.

Nevada Highway Patrol reports that the driver of the overturned truck was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The southbound and northbound lanes of I-580 have reopened to all traffic.
