A holiday pop-up in Midtown Reno is giving locals a chance to sip drinks, meet live jumping spiders, and shop small for the holidays.
Spider Stuff & Co., in partnership with The Violet Haven, Misery Glass, and Strong Warrior Spirit, is hosting its Sip & Spiders Winter Market event at Craft Wine & Beer located at 22 Martin Street, in Reno, on Saturday, December 6, from 4-7 p.m.
The event offers visitors a close-up look at jumping spiders, a chance to see them handled safely, and the option to adopt an eight-legged friend.
The market will also feature handmade acrylic enclosures and spider-themed decor and gifts for sale. Several Reno-area makers will be highlighted, including The Violet Haven with taxidermied insect and bug artwork, Misery Glass with decorative glass art, and Strong Warrior Spirit with handmade Native bead jewelry and ornaments.
“People are curious about spiders, but rarely get to experience how cute and fun jumping spiders can be,” said Lauren Taylor of Spider Stuff Co. “This winter market is a fun way to learn about these amazing creatures, support local Reno artists, and pick up unique holiday gifts all in one stop.”
The Sips & Spiders Winter Market is open to all ages. Craft Wine & Beer will have beverages available for purchase while guests browse the market and meet the spiders.
