A Flood Advisory is in effect until 6:15 p.m. Wednesday for Carson City and southern Washoe County.
The National Weather Service says Doppler radar detected heavy rain from thunderstorms around 4:11 p.m.
Flooding is possible in low-lying areas and locations with poor drainage.
Areas that could be affected include Carson City, New Washoe City, Washoe City, Incline Village-Crystal Bay, Lakeview, Carson City Airport, Washoe Lake Campground and Davis Creek Campground.
Drivers should use caution, especially on roads where water may collect.
