The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is offering free meals for children during fall break through its Kids Café program, with weekday service at five locations across Reno and Sparks.
The program, open to all children and youth between the ages of 2 and 18, does not require enrollment in any specific program. Meals must be eaten on site and are provided at no cost.
Fall break meal sites will operate from Monday, October 6, through Friday, October 10, at the following locations:
North Valleys Library – 1075 North Hills Blvd, Reno
- Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
Sparks Library – 1125 12th Street, Sparks
- Lunch: 12:15 to 12:45 p.m., Monday through Friday
Downtown Reno Library – 301 S. Center Street, Reno
- Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday
Mariposa Academy – 3875 Glen Street, Reno
- Snack: 8:30 to 9:00 a.m., Lunch: 12:00 to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
Jessie Beck Elementary School – 1900 Sharon Way, Reno
- Snack: 8:30 to 9:00 a.m., Lunch: 12:00 to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
In addition to fall break meals, Kids Café offers free meals for children throughout the school year during after-school hours.

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada partners with several community organizations to support the program, including the Washoe County School District and Nutrition Services, the City of Reno, the City of Sparks, Mariposa Academy, the Department of Agriculture, and the Washoe County Library System.
