Former Nevada Assembly Speaker John Hambrick has died.

A statement posted to his Facebook page confirms his passing.

That post described Hambrick as a dedicated public servant who devoted his life to protecting and serving the nation and Nevada.

Hambrick worked as part of the U.S. Secret Service according to the statement on his Facebook page.

He represented District 2 in the Nevada Assembly, and served as Speaker of the Assembly from 2015 to 2017,

Nevada Senator Catherine Cortez Masto shared memories of Hambrick on social media, offering condolences to his family in a brief statement.

"Working with him over the years, I remember more than anything his passion for service and dedication to the people of Nevada," said her statement in part. "He will be missed."

An obituary posted to the website of the Spencer-Miller Funeral Home described him as a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Grove City, Ohio on Saturday.
