The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a freezing fog advisory starting at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
The advisory will be in effect until 11 a.m. on Wednesday according to a release from the NWS.
Areas affected by the advisory include the greater Reno-Carson City-Minden area, northern Washoe County, and the Western Nevada Basin and Range including Pyramid Lake in Nevada. In California affected areas include Lassen County as well as eastern Sierra and Nevada Counties.
The fog could reduce visibility in some places to a quarter mile or less and make driving conditions hazardous, especially along Highway 447 from Wadsworth to Gerlach including Pyramid Lake.
Hazardous conditions are also expected along Highway 395 through the Honey Lake Valley from the California-Nevada state line to Susanville, Highways 36 and 44 around Susanville, and I-80 near Fernley. Roads may also be slick.
