Nevada Office of Emergency Management

The Nevada Office of Emergency Management and Washoe County are conducting preliminary damage assessments to evaluate the extent and severity of damage caused by the Hawk Fire.

Governor Joe Lombardo requested a Presidential emergency declaration to receive immediate, short-term federal assistance to alleviate impacts of the fire on August 27.

A Presidential emergency declaration is not automatically approved. The final approval is at the discretion of President Trump.

NV OEM says the assessments are an essential step. Teams are working alongside local officials to determine whether the fire meets the eligibility criteria.

NV OEM has also partnered with Bright Harbor and Washoe County to create a Survivor Assistance Form.

The form allows residents to receive updates on available grants and future assistance through a personalized portal as resources become available.

The form can be found at oem.nv.gov/fire-assistance.
