The holiday season has kicked off at the Village at Rancharrah as they lit up their grand tree on Saturday night.

The holiday season has kicked off at the Village at Rancharrah as they lit up their grand tree Saturday night. 

Organizers compared the Village to Reno's living room - and are encouraging the community to shop local this season to help small businesses.

"It's always lively, it's always fun. You always run into someone that you know here and it just makes for, it just gives you the Christmas warm and fuzzies," says Kyle Rea, Tolles Development.

The Reed High School intermezzo choir performed and Santa and Mrs. Claus made an appearance to spread some holiday cheer.
