A child was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle and a car in the Gardnerville Ranchos area last week.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, in a Facebook post, they said deputies responded to the intersection of Tillman and Yellowjacket Lanes at approximately 8:05 p.m. on Friday, August 15, for a motorcycle and car crash.

The child riding the motorcycle was seriously injured and taken to Renown Regional Medical Center.

Deputies say the driver did not stay at the scene or offer help, and the car was last seen heading east on Yellowjacket Lane.

The car was described as a gray minivan with an unknown Nevada license plate.

Evidence found at the scene indicates the car may be a 2003 to 2008 Chrysler Pacifica. It is believed to have black-colored damage to the front driver-side wheel well and molding or trim.

Douglas County is asking anyone in the area to check their surveillance cameras for any footage from that time frame.

The sheriff’s office is seeking information that could help identify the driver and the car. Anyone with information is urged to call 775-782-5126 and reference case number 25SO21538.
