Drivers traveling through Verdi should expect delays on Tuesday, May 19, as the Nevada Department of Transportation conducts routine bridge inspections on Interstate 80 near the Garson Road exit.
Lane reductions are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on I-80 near the Garson Road exit 4, with traffic periodically reduced to one lane in each direction.
All interstate ramps and nearby businesses will remain accessible during the work. Traffic flaggers will alternate directions of traffic on the Garson Road bridge over I-80.
Speed limits will also be reduced through the work zone, and drivers are advised to leave extra travel time. The work schedule could change.
The inspections are part of NDOT’s routine bridge inspection program for the Garson Road bridge over I-80.
NDOT inspects most Nevada bridges, including city- and county-maintained structures, every two years. Bridges with more extensive deterioration are inspected more often, while some newer bridges are inspected every four years.
Additional state highway information is available at the NDOT website.
