Carradine arrests

Two people have been arrested following a multi-year investigation into alleged theft and fraudulent business practices involving a former Silver Springs construction business.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office says 49-year-old Joshua Quinton Carradine and 61-year-old Angela Bell Carradine were booked into the Lyon County Jail on Oct. 7. Both face felony counts related to their former business, AJ Home Center / AJ Construction.

The investigation began in June 2023 after the sheriff's office received complaints involving home purchases, construction agreements and financial transactions associated with the business.

Investigators say the alleged criminal activity occurred between April 2022 and February 2024 and affected multiple victims in Nevada and California. The reported losses exceeded $1 million, including money intended for home purchases and construction.

In June 2023, shortly after investigators began contacting the Carradines, the business location in Silver Springs was destroyed in a fire that authorities described as suspicious. Numerous business documents and records were reportedly destroyed.

Investigators continued pursuing the case as additional complaints came in throughout 2024. The Carradines later moved out of Nevada, with their last known residence believed to be in Tennessee, according to the sheriff's office.

The investigation involved the Lyon County Sheriff's Office, Nevada Housing Division and Nevada Attorney General's Office.

Nationwide arrest warrants were issued for both suspects by Walker River Township Justice Court on Sept. 25.

Both suspects are facing a total of 13 felony counts:

  • Five counts of theft of property valued greater than $100,000, Category B felonies.
  • Five counts of theft of property valued at $25,000 or more but less than $100,000, Category B felonies.
  • Three counts of theft of property valued at $5,000 or more but less than $25,000, Category C felonies.
