A man has been arrested in Fernley on multiple drug and weapons charges as part of an ongoing investigation.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit served a search warrant on Thursday at a home on Wild Cherry Drive in Fernley, according to a release from the LCSO.
Before the search warrant was served, deputies conducted a traffic stop involving the primary resident of the home, identified as 39-year-old Jacob Allen Hetzler.
During that traffic stop, a Sheriff's Office K9 detected the smell of narcotics.
While searching the home and property, investigators found suspected methamphetamine, concentrated cannabis products, psilocybin mushrooms, and evidence of drug use and distribution.
Investigators also found guns and gun components, including items believed to be unlawfully possessed under Nevada law.
Hetzler was arrested and booked into the Lyon County Jail on multiple felony charges, including possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (psilocybin mushrooms), possession of concentrated cannabis, manufacture or possession of a silencer, altering or obliterating the serial number on a firearm, and unlawful possession, purchase, transport, or receipt of an unfinished firearm frame or receiver.
His bail has been set at $31,140.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
