A man has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple child sex crime charges.

Alfred Johnson III pleaded guilty to soliciting a child for prostitution and attempted child abuse involving sexual exploitation, according to a release from the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office.

An online sting operation by the Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit in October of last year involved an officer posing as a 16-year-old girl on websites known for illicit commercial sex.

Johnson reached out to the alleged child, offering to pay for sex.

The officer reconfirmed with Johnson that she was 16 years old and then set up a meeting. He was arrested as soon as he arrived.

Johnson will be eligible for parole after one year.
