A man authorities say was suspected of violating his supervised parole was found with several guns, and even a working cannon.Â
Nevada State Police say officers with Parole and Probation went to the home of Garret Ferguson last week and found several illegal guns and other weapons.
With the assistance of the Reno Police Department Gun Crime Intelligence Center and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, officers say they found: a working cannon, 16 firearms, numerous knives/machetes/swords and drug items.Â
NSP says supervised people who are actively on probation or parole are not permitted to have any weapons.Â
Ferguson was arrested and booked into Washoe County Jail where he faces charges of violating his parole and contempt of court.Â
NSP says additional charges may be pursued by the Reno Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigations.
