Update, August 9:
The Muller Parkway Project remains at a standstill due to a pending injunction by Park Ranch Holdings filed in August of 2024.
Douglas County released the following statement:
“The County continues to cooperate and coordinate with Park Ranch Holdings during the construction of Muller Parkway. The County has already addressed many if not all of the concerns expressed and will continue to address their concerns going forward. However, the County will not allow Park Ranch Holdings to use Muller Parkway as a means of leverage to obtain more than Park Ranch Holdings is entitled to, especially when Park Ranch Holdings’ demands would more than double the cost for the residents of Douglas County. The County remains fully committed to fulfilling its obligations to construct Muller Parkway by December 2025; however, this latest filing—initiated by Park Ranch Holding—will likely impact the ability of the County to meet its objectives.”

Douglas County officials announced Friday, April 26, that construction on the Muller Parkway Project's first phase to begin soon.
This project offers a much-needed alternative route, alleviating traffic congestion in the Minden and Gardnerville areas to U.S. 395 through town.
Officials announce they are planning a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the launch of the project, celebrating its commencement and honoring its significance.

Phase 1A
This first phase of construction will take place between Buckeye Road and the Ashland Park housing development border near Toler Lane. This portion of the proposed route does not impact the flood plains, allowing the County to begin construction immediately. The decision to construct the other phases is pending approval from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and private adjacent landowners.
