A water rescue involving six people prompted an emergency response near the Truckee River in Reno on Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened around 1:04 p.m. near 5198 W. Fourth St., by Truckee River Rock and Nursery.

Reno Fire said six people were stranded in total. Crews were able to help two people swim across the water to safety.

Two children who were stuck on a dam were rescued using a flotation device, according to Reno Fire.

Information on the remaining two people was not immediately available.

The extent of any injuries was unknown.
