The Washoe County School Board has decided on a name for a new elementary school.
The new school will be named Smithridge.
It was selected from a list of three possibilities.
Other finalists were John Flynn and Juanita Ydiando.
The District says most people in the area preferred Smithridge.
The new school will be on the site of the former Pine Middle School and is very close to the current Smithridge Elementary.
